Health Benefits: A cooling herb that soothes the nerves and warms the heart, Rose tea has been used traditionally from ancient times for heart health/blood flow/aphrodisiac, nervine support and to draw love, beauty and abundance.

Sourcing and Production Notes: These precious rose buds (used in our Sweet Fortune herbal blend) come from a unique landscape in the Taklimakan desert, of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on the border of China and Afghanistan. The garden is owned and operated by local, indigenous Uyghur people, who have occupied the region for millennia. We are grateful and proud to support them and their legendary roses!

The arid climate provides a unique set of conditions optimal for growing and air drying the roses, which maintains freshness and the profound scent and flavor.

The flower is called Rose damas, or Damask Rose. A special evolution of ethnobotany, the cultivar originated in Western Asia and was introduced to China about a thousand years ago via the Silk Road.It is known for its uniquely purple-ish color, plump form and startling potency. It not only makes some of the best rose tea on Earth, but also some of the best perfume and potpourri!
